WDA JobsKiosk@SG

Client:
Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA)

Project Brief:

Following on with the success launch of JobsKiosk@Central, we were approached to develop an improved version for WDA. And boy did we further improved the user experience for this version.

Bearing in mind that this application will be deployed outdoor on a kiosk, we figured that the engagement time is short, and connectivity might be poor. As such, user’s patience will be severely tested in those kind of situations.

With some AJAX magic, user’s perception of the loading time for the search result is dramatically reduced. With the use of location filters, information architecture of the site is improved, and more relevant results can be shown faster as well. Now the user can expect a faster and more responsive experience while they sieve through the results in search of a potential job.

Now, who says a web app loses out in performance to a native app? Ultimately, it’s all in the design and implementation. Glad that we contributed to help the thousands of job-seekers out there! =)

YWCA Safety (iOS,Android)

Client:
YWCA Singapore

Project Brief:
YWCA Safety Alert app exists as both an iPhone and an Android app. This app seeks to enhance the safety of young women at any time and anywhere. Users can activate a loud siren sound when they are in distress, and the app will record the location and automatically notify their family/friends through email and/or send notifications to fellow users around them. For the Android version, SMS is also sent automatically as well.

Besides this, the reader provides an easy and intuitive way for users to read the latest articles or try out quizzes from YWCA’s publication; and a specially designed time-table function that let them organize their daily activities.

Coovielab was approached to design and develop both the iOS and Android application. With their target users in mind, we iterated the UI design to achieve a best-in-class experience, and gave the app a cute and pleasant look-and-feel. We also crafted a content-management system to make it easy for our client’s administrator to load content from their print publications to the app reader.

About Us

Who We Are?

We are Coovielab. We are a growing digital engagement company composed of passionate crafters ready to build that virtual bridge between you and your target audience.

What We Do?

We design and develop websites, games, interactive and mobile applications. We work with our clients to deliver solutions to better engage and motivate their users with fun, social and interactive methods.

 Our Beliefs

At Coovielab, we believe that all digital products should be patiently crafted with engagement and experience in mind.

We believe that a successful engagement is when there are minimum friction, and when the user experiences more “!” than “?”. To achieve this, we believe that an application must first fulfill a hierarchy of experiences.

“This is useful for me”. We believe that any successful application must first be useful. We first look at all project requirements from the user’s perspective, and provide inputs to refine the desired experience.

“This is smooth..”. We then realize the experience with our focus on the minor details. From the users’ first look at the graphics, to interactions with the user interface, our designers and developers work together to deliver a smooth and seamless experience.

“This is interesting”. We love surprises, and we believe your users love them too. We are always looking at ways to inject nuggets of surprise to delight your users. We also take inspiration from established methods in games.

We do not simply seek to create a product.

Rather, we seek to craft an experience.
